The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) recently approved ANSI/ALI ALIS:2009, Standard for Automotive Lifts – Safety Requirements For Installation and Service. This new standard, which is now available through ALI, becomes effective on April 20, 2010. The current standard (ANSI/ALI ALIS-2001) remains effective and will continue to be available until this date.
